2. What are Amore Visa Prepaid Cards?

Amore Visa Prepaid Cards are reloadable Visa prepaid cards that can be used to pay for online purchases as well as purchases from shops and restaurants worldwide wherever Visa is accepted.

With Amore, you can purchase at Visa payWave merchants, or if you have an Amore Visa Prepaid beep™, ride at MRT, LRT and BGC buses, by tapping your card. 


3. When will my card expire?

Your Amore Visa Prepaid Card will expire two (2) years for cards issued from November 1, 2020 onwards while four (4) years for cards purchased from prior to November 1, 2020. The card is valid until the date (mm/yy) printed on the card below the text "Valid Thru".


4. Does the card have a required maintaining balance?

Your Amore Visa Prepaid Card is a Prepaid Card and not a deposit account, there is no maintaining balance required.


5. If there is money left in my card, will it earn interest?

Your Amore Visa Prepaid Card is a Prepaid Card and not a deposit account, your funds will not earn interest.


6. Is this a credit card?

Amore Visa Prepaid Card has similar features and benefits as credit cards, but it is not a credit card. Amore Visa Prepaid Card is a reloadable Prepaid Card therefore you must load the card with money before you can use it to make purchases.


7. How do I check my card balance?

You may check your card balance real-time through the following channels:

I. For Online Banking, follow the steps below:

    1. Visit https://online.bpi.com.ph, click on the Inquire prepaid card balance link in the Homepage
    2. Enter your 16-digit Amore Visa Prepaid Card number and press "Submit"

 

8. Can I check my balance using a BPI ATM?

No. Your Amore Visa Prepaid Card cannot be used at ATMs.


9. Do you issue monthly statements?

We do not issue monthly statements. However, if your Amore Visa Prepaid Card is enrolled to your BPI Online Banking, you can view up to the last five (5) card transactions in your BPI Online account by following these steps:

  1. Log-in to https://online.bpi.com.ph
  2. Click the My Portfolio tab.
  3. Click the Details button on the right most portion, beside your Amore Visa Prepaid Card

 

10. How do I enroll my card in BPI Online?

Enrollment in BPI Online is only available to BPI Deposits Account Holders. To enroll your card, visit any BPI Branch and request for prepaid card linking.

 

II. Loading and Reloading

I. How do I load money to my card?

If you have a BPI/ BPI Family Bank Deposit Account, you can easily transfer funds at your most convenient time from your BPI Account to your  Amore Visa Prepaid Card  through the following BPI electronic channels:

If you don’t have / BPI Family Bank Deposit Account, you can still load Amore Visa Prepaid Card over-the-counter* at any BPI Branch.

*Maximum load per day is P50,000; aggregate of P500,000 per month.

II. How do I transfer funds to my card?

To transfer funds via BPI Online or BPI Mobile App, follow the steps below:

    1. Log-in to BPI Online or BPI Mobile App
      Under the Transfers > Select Load Prepaid Card Tab
    2. Choose the Source
    3. Input the Amount to be Loaded > Select Load to 3rd Party Prepaid Card > Input 16-digit Prepaid Card Number
    4. Confirm and input the One-Time PIN that will be sent to your registered mobile number

 

III. Card Usage

1. How do I activate my card?

I. If Applied at Ayala Mall

You can already use your card to shop in Visa affliated establishments. Please allow 1-2 banking days upon application for activation of online use of the card.

II. If Applied Online/BPI Branch

 

2. Where can I use my card?

You may use your Amore Visa Prepaid Card online and in stores worldwide wherever Visa is accepted.

 

3. How do I make purchases online?

Transacting online is easy with your Amore Visa Prepaid Card. Select Visa Credit Card as mode of payment and follow the steps below:

  1. Input your Prepaid Card details
    • 16-digit Amore Visa Prepaid Card number
    • CVC 2/ Card Verification Value 2 (the last 3 digits found at the signature panel of your card)
    • Card Validity period
  2. Confirm your transaction via OTP. Make sure your contact details are updated to receive the OTP for your online transactions.

 

4. What is a CVV / CVV2?
The CVV or Card Verification Value is a 3-digit code that can be found at the upper-right corner of the signature panel at the back of your Amore Visa Prepaid Card.

 

5. Can I use Amore Visa Prepaid Card in PayPal?
Yes, you can link your  Amore Visa Prepaid Card to your PayPal.

 

6. How do I link my card to my PayPal account?
When linking your Amore Visa Prepaid Card to PayPal, please make sure your card has at least Php 150 load. PayPal charges $1 to link your card to your PayPal account, and Php 100 when you confirm your card. After successfully confirming your card, PayPal will return the Php 100 to your PayPal account in the form of PayPal credits.

Follow the steps below in linking your card to PayPal:

  1. Sign-up/Log-in to your PayPal account.
  2. Click Profile
  3. Select Add/Edit Credit Card
  4. Select Visa as card type
  5. Enter your Amore Visa Prepaid details
  6. Click Add Card
  7. Your  Amore Visa Prepaid Card  is now viewable in your PayPal Profile. To finalize linking of your card to Paypal, click Confirm My Card to allow PayPal to send a 4-digit verification code you need.

To retrieve your 4-digit PayPal verification code, please view your Last five (5) card transaction history via BPI Online (Card must be enrolled and viewable in your BPI Online account's My Portfolio Page) or by sending your request with your 16-digit Amore Visa Prepaid Card Number via email to expressonline@bpi.com.ph

 

7. Can I withdraw my funds from PayPal transferring funds to my card? 
You may use your Amore Visa Prepaid Card to fund your PayPal account for purchases, but not to withdraw PayPal funds.

 

8. I used my card but my transaction was declined, what do I do?
For concerns regarding Amore Visa Prepaid Card transactions, please dial 889-10000 and any of our phone bankers will be happy to assist. We recommend that you always make sure your card has sufficient load prior to making purchases and verify that all card details and personal information you encoded online is correct before you finalize your online purchases to prevent getting declined transactions.

In case transactions are declined during in-store purchases, kindly request the cashier to use signature as verification (affixing signature in the sales/charge slip) when asked for PIN so that transaction may push-through.

 

9. How do I make purchases in stores?

You may use your card to conveniently shop in Visa affiliated establishments here and abroad in these easy steps:
Present your Amore Visa Prepaid card to the cashier.
Affix signature in the sales slip for validation (signature verification) of transaction. However, if the cashier asks for the PIN, request for signature verification by pressing the enter button in the POS so transaction may push through.

You can also tap your Amore Visa Prepaid payWave card at Visa payWave merchants for easy and fast transactions. No need to sign a sales slip for transactions below Php 2000.

 

10. Can I withdraw cash from my Amore Visa Prepaid Card at ATMs?
No. Amore Visa Prepaid Cards cannot be used at ATMs.

 

11. Can I withdraw over-the-counter at a BPI/BPI Family Savings Bank branch?
Amore Visa Prepaid card has no withdrawal functionality. Therefore, transactions via over-the-counter is not allowed.

 

12. Is there a charge every time I use my card?
BPI does not charge additional fees when you use your Amore Visa Prepaid Card for online and in-store purchases.

Charges only apply for in-store transactions abroad. There is a 2% charge for POS transactions abroad. All additional fees such as registration fees and surcharges dependent on the merchant's policy.

 

IV. How do I get AmoRewards?

1. How can I earn points?

You can earn points from spending wherever Visa is accepted using your Amore Visa Prepaid Card. The conversion is 1 point for every P200 spend per transaction.

 

2. Can I earn points using my beep™ wallet?

No. You can only earn points by spending wherever Visa is accepted.

 

3. Do I need to register to earn points?

You don’t need to register to earn points. Your points have been tracked and credited automatically starting October 1, 2018 if you weren’t able to register in the AmoRewards App.

 

4. How frequent will my points be updated?

Your points will be updated monthly.

 

5. Can I convert my points into cash?

Your points are not convertible to cash.

 

6. Can I pool my points with someone who has an Amore Visa Prepaid Card?

Points cannot be pooled with another cardholder nor transferred to any other person.


7. Can I still use my points and redeem AmoRewards even if my card is already expired?

Your points are valid within 60 calendar days after card expiry. You may still use your points and redeem AmoRewards within that period.

 

8. What will happen to my points if I was not able to use it within 60 calendar days after card expiry?

Your points will be forfeited.


 

POINTS INQUIRY

1. How can I inquire for my points?

You may inquire for your points anytime via SMS. To inquire for your points, text AMOREPOINTS (space) last 10 digits of your Amore Visa Prepaid card number (space) birthdate (MMDDYY) and send 2256.

2. Is there a charge when I inquire for my points via SMS?

Yes, there is a charge of P1.00 per SMS.

 

3. When will I receive the SMS confirmation regarding my points inquiry?

You will receive your updated points via SMS within 2 banking days.

 

REDEMPTION OF AMOREWARDS

1. How can I redeem AmoRewards

You may redeem AmoRewards anytime via SMS. To redeem, text AMOREDEEM (space) last 10 digits of your Amore Visa Prepaid card number (space) product code (space) birthdate (MMDDYY) and send to 2256.

2. Where can I find the AmoRewards that I can redeem?

You may check the AmoRewards you can redeem in the AmoRewards catalog found in bit.ly/amorewards.

 

3. Is there a charge when I redeem via SMS?

Yes, there is a charge of P1.00 per SMS.

 

4. Is there a limit on the number of redemptions I can make in a day?

There is no limit on the number of redemptions you can make in a day, as long as you have enough points to redeem the AmoRewards.

 

5. When will I receive the SMS confirmation regarding my redemption?

You will receive your redemption confirmation with the promo/eCoupon code via SMS within 2 banking days.

 

6. Do the promo/eCoupon codes have a validity period?

Yes, the promo/eCoupon codes are valid within 60 calendar days after receiving the redemption confirmation SMS.

 

7. Can I change the AmoReward or branch location of my redemption request?

Once a valid redemption request has been made, this cannot be cancelled, revoked or changed.

 

8. What do I need to bring to redeem the AmoReward?

For AmoRewards that will be redeemed in stores, you need to present your Amore Visa Prepaid Card and the SMS redemption confirmation with eCoupon to your chosen merchant and mall. For AmoRewards that will be redeemed online, just enter the promo code upon payment.

 

9. Can I still redeem my points if my card expires?

Yes, redemption of points is valid within 60 calendar days after card expiry.

 

V. Lost and Stolen Cards

1. I lost my card, what do I do?

Dial 889-10000 (all areas with "02" area code), 1-800-188-89100 (domestic toll-free for PLDT) or +632 889-10000 (mobile phone and international calls) and press 5 to report the card as lost/ stolen, so that the card can immediately be blocked. This is to make sure that your card can't be used by anyone else.

 

2. The card I lost still has load in it, can I get my money back?

Yes, you may get the remaining funds after you report it as lost/stolen. However, any purchase transactions using lost cards on dates before the card was reported as lost/ stolen will be considered as transactions done by the cardholder and will not be reimbursed.

 

3. How can I get my money back?

You can purchase a new Prepaid, and go to any BPI Branch and request for transfer of balance.

If you are a Deposit Account Holder, you can request to transfer your remaining balance to your Deposit Account by calling 889-10000 (all areas with "02" area code), 1-800-188-89100 (domestic toll-free for PLDT) or +632 889-10000 (mobile phone and international calls). Please note that there is a P50 fee.

If you are not a Deposit Account Holder, you can request to get your money back in the form of a Manager’s Check for a fee of P100. You can request for a Manager’s Check at any BPI Branch.

 

4. What if I don't want to get my card replaced, how do I get my money back?

To get your reimbursement, you may request for a Manager's Check or have your card balance transferred to your BPI deposit account, subject to service charges.

Your unused load will be reimbursed Ninety (90) days after you reported your card as lost.

 

5. What if I lose my card while I'm traveling abroad, who do I contact?

To report a lost card when traveling, contact our international hotline + 632 889-1000 to talk to any of our phone bankers.

 

6. My card expired but it still has load in it, can I get my money back?

Yes, you may request to transfer your remaining balance from your expired card to your deposit account or via manager’s check at any BPI branch. Please note that standard card fees apply.

You may request for a new card application and transfer the remaining balance from your expired card to your new card.

 

VI. beep™ Card 

1. What will happen if I lose or misplace my Amore Visa Prepaid beep™ Card?
The beep™ Card is like a "wallet" which contains the amount or peso value loaded in it. When it gets lost, you cannot recover the amount contained in your beep™ wallet, but you can still recover funds in  your Visa wallet. We encourage you to handle you card with care to ensure that you don't lose or misplace it.
